The neighborhood
The Inner Sunset is a beautiful residential neighborhood located next to Golden Gate Park. This neighborhood is famous for its restaurants. Within 2-6 blocks of this house, you will find over 40 famous SF restaurants: Vegetarian, Chinese, Sushi, American, Vietnamese, Indian, Italian, Seafood, Ethiopian, and many others. You can walk to Golden Gate Park and see DeYoung Museum, Stow Lake (where you can rent boats), Japanese Tea Gardens, Strybing Arboretum, the Children’s Playground, and Steinhart Aquarium.
The N-Judah street car takes you to the Beach/Cliff House/Sutro Baths in one direction and the other direction takes you downtown (Pier 39, Cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square). San Francisco is a very small city. The city limits are only 7 x 7 miles so everything is very close and it is easy to get around by car, taxi or public transportation. Andronico’s Grocery Store is only 3 blocks away or there is a convenience store one block away.
Viewings/Showings
I love when guests are able to stop by and view the home. I live in San Francisco so you can call me on my cell phone and arrange a time to view the home. I am only able to give tours when the homes are empty as I am sure you would not want guests viewing the home when you are occupying the house.
Handicap Access
This home is not very accessible for those with limited mobility since the bedrooms are on the top floor or lower level. I would recommend using a hotel in San Francisco which has an elevator.
Top 2 Complaints about this San Francisco Vacation Home
1. The home is old. This is true. This home is over 100 years old since it was built after the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906. During the remodel, I decided to upgrade the bathrooms and kitchen, but the bedrooms and living areas retain their original design with even 100 year old lamp fixtures on the ceilings. There are some cracks on the walls.
2. The N Judah line. The N Judah is a street car which runs by the house and can be a little noisy. However, last year, I put in brand new double paned windows which cuts out a lot of the noise. The N Judah costs $2 (exact change) and takes you to to Ocean Beach in one direction or Moscone Center, downtown San Francisco, Powell Street, and the Bay in the other direction. The N Judah stops running by the house about midnight.
Top 2 Compliments about this SF Rental
1. Golden Gate Park This home is located only 2 blocks from Golden Gate Park. In Golden Gate Park, you can go to playgrounds, see the De Young Museum, Stow Lake, or the new Aquarium.
2. The restaurants. Wow. There are about 50 restaurants within a 5 block radius of this home. And these are all diverse excellent restaurants such as: Peruvian, Sushi, Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Vegan, Seafood, Cajun, Chinese, Russian, and much more. And a large grocery store is only 2 blocks away - Andronicos.
